Pasta Maltagliati has obtained the Halal certification to meet the increasing demand from the Islamic community for food products made in Italy that are in conformity with the criteria of the Muslim law. This means that food has been subjected to approved certification systems which guarantee to consumers that nothing in the food has any forbidden components.
Halal (حلال, Halal, Halaal) is an Arabic word from the Sharia’a (the Islamic law) that means permissible or lawful. When talking about food products, the affirmation that a product is Halal indicates that it is produced in conformity with the Islamic law. The presence of the HIA logo (granted by the Halal International Authority) implies that the products and their ingredients meet the criteria of Muslim dietary Law and are prepared under strictly regulated conditions to meet the Halal quality standards.
Halal certification is now an essential requirement for customs entry and commercialization of some food products in countries of Islamic faith and in increasing demand by consumers. An opportunity, therefore, to increase the market penetration in countries with a significant presence of Islamic communities, both in Europe and in the rest of the world, and offer a guarantee of certified quality to Muslim consumers.
Pasta Maltagliati obtained also the Kosher certification.
